The LTS

The Regional Association of South Tyrol's Tourism Organisations (up to 1994 Regional Association of Transport Organisations), in short LTS (Landesverband der Tourismusorganisationen Südtirols), is the umbrella organisation of South Tyrol's tourism boards and tourism associations. The LTS currently represents 82 Tourism Boards and 11 Tourism Associations on a political level and in all important touristic committees on a regional level. The LTS is managed by a board consisting of 25 people, from which a president, two vice presidents, and five committee members are elected.

The main tasks of the LTS can be divided into institutional activities, informational activities, IT support and software development, and further education of the employees of the various tourism organisations.

Part of the institutional tasks include the support of member associations in all matters of every-day operations, the representation of interests in committees and advisory boards, the realisation of tourism-relevant projects on a regional level, the conclusion of cash value agreements, the coordination of unified touristic solutions on a regional level, the drawing up of analysis and expert opinions, the cooperation with other business associations and touristic partners, and the political support in order to receive fair and sufficient funding.

Informational tasks are realised through regular mailings and news on IT topics. Within the area of IT support the LTS strives to cover the entire IT spectrum inclusive of IT hardware and software, and the IT phone hotline. Part of this task is also the continuous development of our own back office software TIC-Web and the support and advice with regard to linking up all tourism organisations. Within the area of continuous education, the LTS strives to offer affordable seminars tuned to the needs of our members on the topics of tourism, languages, internet, marketing and personal competencies.

The LTS Co-op was founded in 1999 in order to outsource the increasing activity in the areas of IT services, and continuous education and accounting from the LTS Association. The founding of this Co-op soon paid off due to tax reasons.
